The active weather also caused several landslides and fallen trees in several areas. The Fire and Rescue Department has so far received more than thirty emergency calls regarding the incidents.
A total of 16 calls were received for fallen trees, while 14 were for landslides. The Fire and Rescue Department has removed fallen trees blocking roads, and also monitored areas at risk of flooding and landslides. The operations are to ensure public safety.
The Fire and Rescue Department reminds the public to remain vigilant and take safety measures, including ensuring drains in the house area are in good condition, avoid going through flooded areas, drive vehicles according to speed limit during heavy rain, and not to stay near large trees or park cars near trees during heavy rain and strong winds.
